Being "impolite" in this instance doesn't mean being rude or not taking other people's feelings into account--it means overstepping the social conventions that kept dinner conversation pleasant and inconsequential when I was growing up. I think you can talk about matters of great import without becoming angry or abusive. The more important the topic the higher the premium we should place on being rational and listening to all comers.
This website is dedicated to talking about all the things I was told you weren't supposed to talk about in polite company and the stuff that polite people might just find boring. There will be rants but hopefully they'll be rational rants. And there will be the occasional Crackpot Theory as they're fun and I can't resist throwing them out every once in a while. Honestly, I find a whole lot of things fascinating and so hopefully this blog will reflect that.
Attorney--n. pl. at·tor·neys Abbr. Att. or Atty. The word that lawyers use for themselves because they think it sounds more impressive than "lawyer".
